MTV Video Music Awards A gate-crasher livens up a glittering but otherwise tame MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. As the flashbulbs went off and fans went wild, the music industry's biggest and brightest stars made their way down the red carpet ahead of the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Walking down the carpet seems to be a show all its own, with a pre-VMA performance by the Black Eyed Peas. In a barely there schoolgirl uniform, Fergie didn't hold back and had crowds screaming for more. Beyonce proved to be a favorite among stars on the carpet, but even more anticipated however, was Justin Timberlake's performance. But the award ceremony, which is usually known for it's outrageous antics, had nothing too shocking. Only at the end was there a deviation from the otherwise tame script when pop-punk quartet Panic! at the Disco were walking up to collect the trophy for video of the year. Check out MTV.com

Showbiz review of 2005 part 3 of 3 Celebrtiy love-life - Celebrities in trouble - Farewells In typical Hollywood style, we saw marriages and divorces that made eyebrow rise and tongues wag. Actress Demi Moore, 42 married Ashton Kutcher, 27 in September - both are followers of Kabbalah, as practiced by Madonna. On the other side of the coin, after four and a half years, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston divorced. Although neither side has openly talked as to the reasons behind the break-up, Angelina Jolie, who co-starred with Pitt in "Mrs. and Mrs. Smith", appears to have fuelled speculation. While Pitt or Jolie have not publicly acknowledged that they're a couple, Pitt's publicist informed the media that he wanted to adopt her two children. When asked about her co-star during the premiere of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jolie smiled and said, "What do I think about him? I think he's amazing. He's a great actor, he's a wonderful guy. He's funny, he's a joy to come to work with. He's great." Other celebrity couples that are on-again/off-again: Jude Law and Sienna Miller who were once engaged but after Law publicly admitted to having an affair with his children's nanny, the engagement was called off. And then there's Kate Moss. Best known as a supermodel with lucrative contracts, she was photographed snorting cocaine while in the studio of her boyfriend, Pete Doherty, the lead singer of Babyshambles. Upon learning of her drug use, which she admittedly, several companies including Burberry and Chanel dropped her as their model/spokesperson resulting in the lost of millions of British sterling. She went into rehab in Arizona soon after the scandal emerged and since sober, has reportedly distanced herself from Doherty. A busy year for celebrity criminal activity: Russell Crowe was charged with assault after throwing a telephone at a hotel staffer after he couldn't get in contact with his wife, trouble rock Courtney Love went into court appointed rehab and still faces jail time for possession of prescription medication and assault. Disgraced UK glam rocker Gary Glitter, having already served time in a UK prison for possession of child pornography, was arrested in Vietnam for suspicion of committing "lewd" acts with two girls but to date, has not been formally charged. The former rocker is now claiming that the girls were frightened by ghost and that's why they wanted to sleep in his bed. Last but not least, actor Christian Slater was arrested in New York City on charges of groping a 52-year old woman - a charge he vehemently denied. And what would the world of entertainment be with Paris Hilton? The hotel heiress-turned-model-turned-actress had a busy year promoting her horror film, a remake of "The House of Wax", launching her new perfume, starring in hamburger commercials and just posing for pictures. Was engaged to Greek shipping heir, Paris Latsis earlier in the year but that ended in September when she started dating another Greek heir, Stavros Niarchos. 2005 said farewell to Oscar winner Ann Bancroft, an accomplished actress on screen and Broadway. She received an Academy Award for her role in the "Miracle Worker" and as the seductive Mrs. Robinson in the classic movie, "The Graduate". She is survived by actor and director, Mel Brooks. She was 73. Comic genius and madman Richard Pryor, known for his raunchy humor, was also a skilled actor who could handle serious subject matters as he did in "Lady Sings The Blues" (1972). He died of a heart attack just days after his 65 birthday. Canadian actor, James Doohan, known by millions as "Scotty" from Star Trek died at the age of 85. Johnny Carson, host of NBC's Tonight Show for almost 30 years and considered a part of American culture, died at 79.

ITALY: Aerials of the castle where Tom Cruise... It is unlikely anyone will be able to see Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes say 'I do' this weekend as even with a helicopter peeking into the Odescalchi (pronounced: oday-skalki) castle is virtually impossible. Noone knows how the couple will arrive, by helicopter or car, and now the locals are even saying they could arrive from the other side of the lake by boat and then drive up to their medieval wedding venue. The couple themselves have remained hidden since arriving in Rome at the beginning of the week. The only real excitement having been the arrival of the supposed Giorgio Armani wedding dress at their hotel on Tuesday. But Italian media and the odd fan have mounted a round-the-clock vigil outside the hotel Hassler where the couple, along with a bunch of guests including top Hollywood names, have been holed up. The only thing for certain - sooner or later they have to come out.

VARIOUS: Beyonce talks about working with Sha... Beyoncé Knowles isn't shy when it comes to performing - but she had to muster up her courage to pose for the cover of this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. The superstar cover model and her fellow co-horts premiered the magazine at a the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday (February 14) evening. "We knew it was going to be a swimsuit edition so at first I was ok is this the right thing to do? But my memory of all the Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions were beautiful women, elegant, sexy but very classy. So I thought this is great as long I have a photographer that I feel comfortable with Cliff Watts, who I worked with and they were happy to do that, my mother designed the swimsuits so they are things that I feel comfortable in and it was so great. Such a great experience it was one of the best photo shoots I have ever done," Beyonce told Reuters. Making the Sports Illustrated cover for the annual top-selling issue propels the singer into an elite class of models whose ranks include Christie Brinkley, Elle Macpherson, Rachel Hunter, Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks. The 25-year-old "Dreamgirl" is the first non-model to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimwear issue, which hits news-stands this week "Beyonce I can only say she is beautiful and she has a great cover I think she is the perfect choice for this years' Sports illustrated cover because it is a music issue. She is a great artist and she is sexy," said Bar Refaeli, Sports Illustra...
USA: "Bourne Ultimatum" star Matt Damon is ho... Academy Award-nominated actor Matt Damon received the 2,343rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday (July 25) just one week before the release of his latest film, "The Bourne Ultimatum.'' On hand for the ceremony were Damon's wife and mother, who were also joined by the head of Universal Studios, Ron Meyer, and "Bourne Ultimatum" director Paul Greengrass. Damon posed for photos with fans and signed autographs before taking the stage to speak about this experience. "I got to say, a few times in my life I've had these experiences that are just kind of too big to process, and this is, looks like it's going to be one of those times," said Damon. "It'll probably sink in when I walk down this street in the middle of the night in about six months and see someone peeing on my star." The 36-year-old actor from Cambridge, Mass., got his start with a one-line role in the 1988 coming-of-age film "Mystic Pizza.'' Damon dropped out of Harvard University to pursue an acting career full time, eventually landing himself a best actor Oscar nomination for the 1997 film "Good Will Hunting,'' which he co-wrote with long-time friend Ben Affleck. At the ceremony the actor spoke of coming to Los Angeles and dreaming about his own star on the Walk of Fame. "We actually, Ben and I lived in a really really crappy apartment about five blocks away from here. We used to walk up and down here and look at these stars," explained Damon. "I hoped, I dreamed that this would happen, but I... thank y...
USA: Former fiancee of Heath Ledger, Michelle... While dead actor Heath Ledger's former fiancé Michelle Williams makes her way back to the U.S., Williams' mother arrives at the Brooklyn townhouse the couple shared until late September. New York Police Chief Ray Kelly says Ledger's autopsy is still inconclusive as Hollywood actors lament the loss of a great young star. On Wednesday (January 23), one day after Australian actor Heath Ledger's death, his ex-girlfriend and daughter returned to her Brooklyn home, which she had shared with Ledger until last September. Actress Michelle Williams, 27, was filming a movie in Sweden when she learned of Ledger's death. Williams and her 2-year old daughter, Matilda, were driven home in a large black SUV. Williams, with her daughter in hand, rushed into the garage of the large townhouse without speaking to the media. Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger met while filming "Brokeback Mountain". Both were nominated for Academy Awards for their roles in the film. The couple ended their relationship last year. Ledger's cause of death has not been officially determined. On Wednesday New York City's medical examiner conducted an autopsy, and the results were inconclusive. Williams' mother and friends arrived early on Wednesday (January 23) at her home. "The Medical Examiner said today there was no criminality. Of course we have to wait for the toxicology report, that could be as long as 10 days. There was some issue about a twenty dollar bill. There was a rolled up twenty dollar bill found, no testing of that bill has been done as yet," New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told reporters. Police said the death may have been accidental. There were sleeping and anti-anxiety pills by the bed but no illegal drugs in the apartment, no suicide note and no evidence of foul play. Ledger's family in Perth, Australia, called his death a tragic accident and appealed for privacy to let them grieve. Ledger and Williams split in September and Ledger moved from their Brooklyn home to an apartment in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, where fans built a shrine of flowers and candles at the front door and a battery of television trucks stood guard. Accolades came from Hollywood's elite, who considered Ledger a special talent who stood out both as leading man and supporting actor in films such as "The Patriot" in 2000 and "Monster's Ball" in 2001. "My heart goes out to his family and his kid. He's got a little kid. I don't know, you know people have demons, sometimes and it's hard to see them," actor William H. Macy told Access Hollywood at the Sundance Film Festival. Actress Mg Ryan added that Ledger's death is "Just an unspeakably sad thing. And I think everybody's hearts and thoughts go out to his loved ones." In the weeks before his death, Ledger finished shooting a new Terry Gilliam project "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," in London.

DENMARK: Copenhagen makes bid to be recognise... Denmark's capital city, Copenhagen, makes a bid to become one of the world's fashion hubs along with Milan, Paris, London and New York at its fashion week. As Copenhagen makes a bid to be recognised as a fashion hub, Scandinavian designers have been doing their utmost to sell their wares at the city's Fashion Week. It's one of the biggest fashion fairs in Northern Europe, and only after two years of existence, buyers are coming from all over the world to check out what is going on up north. One Danish designer who fled for Paris and London many years ago, returned to show off his collection in his own country. Danish designer Jens Laugesen spoke with Reuters TV immediately after his show ended on Saturday: "Well, Copenhagen Fashion Week is growing very quickly, it started only a couple of seasons ago and now it has suddenly become one of these things that everybody wants to go visit. When I started my collection in 2002, journalists said 'Oh you're Danish, it will be interesting to see what will happen in Denmark, and on the same time this thing happened, so there is a really big focus on Scandinavia, Denmark and Copenhagen Fashion Week," Jens Laugesen said. "The fashion you can get in Copenhagen and Denmark is highly wanted everywhere in the world because it is good quality at the right prize and aesthetic design," the Director of Danish Fashion Institute, Eva Kruse, said. And the organisers of Copenhagen Fashion Week don't just invite more international brands to keep...
